Hiroshi Tsunoda (Tokio, 1974) is a Japanese designer established in Barcelona since 2000. Since he was a child, Hiroshi liked painting and working with his hands but it was after seeing a documentary about Giorgetto Giugiaro when his interest for design began. His fascination for the American culture, specially the cinema and basketball, make him to move to Chicago and then study design in the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, an experience that allowed him to develop his talent and technique apart from acquiring his own style.
His design identity is the formal simplicity, which brings a strong geometric character in his designs and provides them with a big honesty in relation with their function and the material used. Hiroshi finds the inspiration to design new products in this closer surroundings, in the small problems of the daily life and exploring continuously new formal and conceptual fields.
In 2005 Hiroshi decided to found his own studio in Barcelona with the idea to offer innovative and fresh solutions, seen from a multicultural point. During these years, the studio has collaborated with different profiles of national and international companies. The same year he creates DesignCode, a product editorial company based with the Design-à-porter: sensational design within everyone’s reach.
His designs has been showed around the world: London, Milan, Paris, Frankfurt, Hangzhou, Moscow… and he has participated in a huge number of talks and events, like the DesignAct in Moscow, the Formica Workshop in Miami, the Hangzhou International Design Festival in China, the Design of New Business Ideas organized by the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid and DDI, Creatives Talks by Lladró in Valencia and The Creative Journeys in the Apple Store in Barcelona.
Hiroshi has combined his career as a designer with university teaching. In the last years he has taught at IED and Elisava in Barcelona, in the High Degree and in some Masters. He also had realized a huge number of workshops.

Design Studio After having met in Elisava and reunited a few years later in the famous multi-product and multi-service Barcelona property “Servei Estació” and exchanged their views and experiences from the studios where they had worked, the designers Ruth Perez and Xavier Flores decided to unite their destinies and created their own COMPEIXALAIGUADESIGNSTUDIO studio, where theu could translate their design ideas in which they belive.
Their passion for objects that interact with the user and their intention to make the most of the material they are working at all times, are two maxims of their creative proposals. As they comment “We try to create objects that are not only independent beings; but art pieces that grow, develop and change through the relationship with the user and the complicity between the user and the object created through morphological changes and perception.
The studio has designed and developed objects for furnishing brands, lighting, food and fashion, as Lékué, Simon Group, Nestle, Chocolat Factory, Vialis and has presented their work at international exhibitions and design awards events in Germany, France, Spain , Japan and Slovenia.

They graduated in Industrial Design at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2005.
And broadened their knowledge in different areas of design; Interior Design, Restyling, Graphic Arts and Fine Arts respectively.
The same concern makes them start their career shaping the multidisciplinary design collective Macalula (2006-2009).
Together they offer a fresh and natural view of understanding design, giving a new approach to everyday life.Currently, they are dedicated to the field of interior design, graphic design and teaching.Always with a creative and multidisciplinary vision and commitment to teamwork, they face new challenges with greater maturity and judgment without losing the essence of its inception, enjoy day-to-day work and pass it on their projects.
